    NBA 2006-2007

Here we are a quarter of the way thru the season already.

Surprise team: Probably Utah at 17-6

Hottest team: Phoenix 13 straight wins. Lots of good teams in the west, 5 teams with 16 wins at the moment, none in the east. Lakers are a better team this year. San Antonio still tough. Mavs are OK but I just don't see them hitting on all cylinders, yet anyway. If any team really worries me, it's Phoenix. Gotta see how this thing plays out.

On the east side, Cleveland's tough, maybe Orlando. Miami, I'd like to forget about them, still, if Shaq/Wade are healthy for the playoffs . . . right now they're gonna have to make the playoffs. Atlantic division's a disaster, comedy relief only.

    Biggest question is where Iverson's going . . .

The Lakers are a far bigger surprise when you realize who their starting lineup is. No question. 16-8 with Odom (and Kobe out for 3 games) out now is a downright miracle.

Yep, the Lakers have impressed me. That and they usually match up good against the Mavs anyway.

Nowitski sprains ankle, X-rays negative, listed day to day. Mavs beat Sonics anyway.

Suns going for 16 straight, are snowed out in Denver. Iverson also snowed out.

heh heh, you forgot to mention that the wiz took down phoenix's streak (dallas' too, earlier in the season.)

                "quality shots!"...

Yeah, Washington is gonna cause some problems for alot of teams. Don't really follow them too much but yeah they knocked off the Mavs after, I believe it was 13 wins. They have a good ballclub.

In other news, tonight Mavs beat the Suns 101-99 on a Nowitski shot inside of 30 seconds. Mavs have the best record (for now) 22-7.

. . . and Iverson scores 44 for the Nuggets.

Mavs at Lakers, Jan. 7. Should be a good one.

Well the Lakers beat the Mavs on the 7th but Dallas won last night 114-95. They're 33-8 at the halfway point.

Nash is still the leading candidate for MVP but Nowitski has closed the gap some. Still, he going to have to put up some big numbers to beat out Nash. Same goes for anyone else.

If anyone cares, Shaq is due to sit out 2 more games then be back in uniform. No he hasn't retired.

incredible. mr. agent zero, gilbert arenas gets voted in as starting guard on the east all-star team. while completely justified, still awesome.

personally, i can't wait to see him vs. kobe...
