I'd call them the British New Edition because that's kind of what they were... 5 young blacks coming out in the early 80's.
They hit it with "pass the dutchie", but I personally thought "shantytown" and the dance track "she's trouble" were the best they did.
I also thought of Sheena Easton.
"Back in the city" from "A private heaven" (strut, sugar walls,) is my favorite track as well as the '86 movie track she performed, "So Far, So Good."
