Saw X last night, in Orlando.
Original lineup. Exene Cervenka, John Doe, Billy Zoom, DJ Bonebrake.
Setlist: 20+ tunes, about 90% of them from the first 3 albums.
They still got it. More than a bit older. Outside of Billy Zoom sitting on a stool for most of the show (which didn't matter much, because he was still playing as great as he ever has), no real concessions to age: no detuned guitars, songs played in the originally recorded keys, at the original tempos, no bullshit stage patter. About 23 tunes played in 90 minutes. The Beacham has a capacity of a little more than a thousand. Maybe 400 showed up, which is exactly the type of venue and crowd size you'd want to see the band at. Small vintage aps onstage through a club PA.
Ain't gonna say anything else, other than if you want to do yourself a favor, go catch 'em while you still can.
