    Val's Favorite Snack

    I didn't read the article. I'm assuming it's jizz.

You know a woman is "fascinating" when her only current way to get attention is to tell everyone what she's eating.

    She's like a walking World's-Most-Boring-Facebook-Account.

At this point Wolf needs Val to croak and he writes a song about it. It’s really the only hit-making formula he can count on.

The only thing I ever found even semi-interesting about her was when she hooked up with Eddie Van Halen.

Even in terms of all the sitcoms I watched as a kid/pre-teen in the mid-to-late 1970s and early 1980s, I never thought much of One Day At A Time and even when I did watch it I thought Bertinelli's character was the least interesting one. I never thought of Bertinelli as being sexy or gorgeous...she was cute, but not Marcia Brady hot or anything like that. After One Day At A Time went off the air, her career devolved into nothing of note, far as I could tell. Bunch of made for tv movies and second-rate sitcoms I never bothered watching. Her most notable post-One Day career endeavor being Weight Watchers, I think. These days a celebrity for being a celebrity decades ago.

She's like Hagar. She's only currently famous because she hooked up with a Van Halen.

And ONE DAY AT A TIME sucked. My wife & I showed our daughter HAPPY DAYS and that show still fucking works. ONE DAY AT A TIME was shit, as far as I remember.

Even Patrick Duffy can at least claim he was in DALLAS...the best fucking show ever!!

Terry and Rikk are both correct. She's unspectacular in every way. Eddie must have a thing for people like that, marrying her and then Hagar.

I always thought it was really gross that Ed married Val. They looked too damn much alike. I think that's why Wolfie started off with a real downy look about him. He grew out of it but I'd bet it was pretty touch-and-go for a while in the VH household.

I wouldn't say it was the worst sitcom ever or whatever, but I don't recall thinking much of it even back when it was on the air. I guess it was consistently in the top 20 of sitcoms re: ratings during most of its run, and it did have a nearly decade-long run so the show obviously had a degree of success.

I just remember watching it during daytime syndication in the late 1970s/early 1980s...I have no memory of watching it when it originally aired in whatever time slot it originally aired in. I seem to recall part of what made it memorable was it depicted a divorced mother raising two teenaged daughters and that was somewhat of a first in terms of that particular dynamic on tv, that dynamic being a single, divorced mother raising two teen girls on her own. But the show was neither really slapstick funny nor a really serious drama. I guess a large part of it was that I was, like, 9 years old when that show peaked in the ratings in the late 1970's, and One Day At A Time definitely wasn't a show that was made to appeal to a 9-year-old.

But that’s not all folks. When Valerie isn’t telling us what she is eating she tells us how miserable she is.

Early Happy Days is still good. The later episodes suck. It is the show where jumping the shark comes from.

I watched a porno called One Day in Slime where the creepy maintenance man had a threesome with the mom and two daughters. I never knew a man could jizz that much. Obviously they edited in some separate takes.

Two years ago, I got a DVD set which had the first six seasons of HAPPY DAYS (I think it's 1974-1980). It goes to right before Ron Howard left.

Everything off those first six seasons (with a few exceptions, including the shitty Fonzie "jumping the shark" episode) is damn good.

It's impossible to find those later seasons. They're not on DVD (or Blu-Ray). They're not even streaming (not even on Paramount Plus...they only have one of the earlier seasons).

So, my daughter was upset because she wanted to keep watching. But from what I've heard, it's those last 5 or 6 seasons during which the show gets really crappy. (But I haven't seen the later seasons.)

I may vote in the liberal camp...but I despise cancel culture (for the most part). But hearing about Lizzo getting cancelled, that was nice because it's nice to be able to be less bothered having to see her.
